Antiques Trader

The player is first introduced to Alistair McCubbin after Rudolf Taleweaver mentions there is a trader visiting Accordia who is willing to give out trading advice free of charge.

Introduction Edit

After approaching the mysterious visitor, Alistair McCubbin introduces himself and says:

  • "Ho! Accordia's would-be-saviour in the flesh! The name's Alistair McCubbin, happy to be here and to help!"
  • My dear mother fled Accordia as it crumbled. She used to speak of it so fondly... I wish I could have witnessed its majesty myself."
  • "If you heed my Trading advice, perhaps I'll still have that chance!"
  • "The first rule of trading is to have something worth selling. Let's see if your fishing friend can catch a decent Rubyfish, shall we?"
  • "I recall the waters of Woodcutt Isle being full of them last time I holidayed there..."

Quests Edit

The player is then sent on a quest to go to Woodcutt Isle to catch a Rubyfish to give to Alistair McCubbin.

Upon returning with the Rubyfish and approaching Alistair McCubbin he says:

  • "Did you manage to find a Rubyfish? I recall the waters of Woodcutt Isle being full of them last time I holidayed there..."

The player then has an option to select either "Nope" or "Sure!" to answer his question.

If "Sure!" is selected a green arrow pointing toward the ground appears with a bubble with a fish inside it.

After dragging the bubble towards Alistair McCubbin he will say:

  • "A quality catch! Now we have something to work with."

Alistair McCubbin then assigns the reward for the quest and says:

  • "Now you've got a fish, you'll need somewhere to sell it."
  • "Fortunately, it just so happens that I have this Fishmonger Stall. Take it, it's yours!"
  • "All I ask in return is that you open your inventory and place the Fishmonger Stall in front of the Seabeard Manor ruins."

Alistair McCubbin then assigns a quest to place the Fishmonger Stall.

After building the Fishmonger Stall Alistair McCubbin will say the following when approached:

  • "And with that, the foundations for your commercial empire are laid, young <insert player's name>. Congratulations!"

Alistair McCubbin will then give the player the reward and say:

  • "Before you can hire a trader to sell you'll need to provide suitable accommodation for your crew."
  • "You'll require the services of the one and only Grout Brothers again, so I'd suggest stocking up on Pearls!"
  • "Got it? Right then, time to restore that Trader House. Get to it!"

Alistair McCubbin will then send the player on a quest to restore the Trader House.

After the Trader House is repaired and the player approaches Alistair McCubbin he will say:

  • "It's just as mother described...Wonderful! The final piece of the puzzle is a willing Fishmonger to sell you hauls."

After giving the player the reward for rebuilding the Trader House Alistair McCubbin says:

  • "Good job I planned ahead and advertised the role, isn't it? And is that an experienced applicant waiting at the docks?"
  • "I rather think it is! Yes, I know that lad knows his fish. Snap him up!"

Alistair McCubbin then sends the player on a quest to hire a Fish Trader.

After hiring Gregor Monkfish as the fish trader Alistair McCubbin says the following when approached:

  • "Excellent recruitment skills!"

Alistair McCubbin will then give the player the reward for completing the quest, and say:

The player is then sent on a quest to speak to Rudolf Taleweaver.
